Course content:
- Reviews recent research and theory about academic language and disciplinary literacy
- Identifies literacy demands of curriculum subjects and the implications for teaching and learning
- Demonstrates practical strategies to develop disciplinary reading and academic vocabulary
- Develops understanding of how language shifts from informal talk to formal writing
- Uses academic writing tools to support cohesive and coherent writing

- Practitioners who are new to, or beginning to develop their understanding of disciplinary literacy
